But new economic data released today shows that his economy took another turn for the worse: core inflation is up<\/a> \u2014 and the full impact of Trump\u2019s tariffs hasn\u2019t even hit yet. It\u2019s no wonder that working families continue to worry<\/a> about making ends meet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump has doubled down on his erratic tariffs despite the damage to the economy, workers, and their families. There\u2019s no denying it: costs are going up, the job market is a mess, and farmers and businesses are panicking. Instead of enjoying the holiday weekend, Americans are worrying about how they will afford skyrocketing prices on everything from groceries to school supplies.
