This evening, Donald Trump is playing host<\/a> to some of the world\u2019s biggest billionaires. While Trump chums it up with the ultra-rich, working families are bracing for devastating health care cuts under Trump\u2019s billionaire-first budget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A <\/strong>new report<\/strong><\/a> shows that for every <\/strong>$80,000 tax break<\/strong><\/a> each millionaire gets, at least four Americans will lose their health care <\/strong>and many others will see their benefits reduced. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, DNC Rapid Response Kendall Witmer released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs Trump wines and dines with big billionaires, he\u2019s sending a clear message: he couldn\u2019t care less about the pain he\u2019s causing working families. Millions of Americans are going to lose their health care so that Trump\u2019s billionaire buddies and donors can cash in on the massive tax handouts in his cruel budget bill. Republicans are now attempting a rebrand of their own bill because they know how unpopular it is, but Trump\u2019s lavish dinner party makes it pretty obvious where his priorities lie \u2013 with the rich and powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s so-called “signature achievement” is the largest wealth transfer<\/a> from the working and middle class to the ultra-rich and the biggest health care cut in history. Republicans are panicking about how unpopular the bill is and now they are scrambling to rebrand the bill<\/a> as a \u201ctax cut for working families.\u201d The reality is that it’s a massive tax break for millionaires and billionaires paid for by $1 trillion in cuts<\/a> to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act marketplaces, and will leave at least 15 million more Americans<\/a> uninsured.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
