A new report<\/a> on Mid-Atlantic and Southeast manufacturing showed more job losses \u2014 manufacturing employment fell for the sixth straight month to its lowest level in a year \u2014 and higher prices that are only expected to increase. Let\u2019s be clear: Trump\u2019s reckless economic policies are dealing a massive blow to the manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another new report<\/a> shows these difficulties aren\u2019t unique to just the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Trump\u2019s reckless economic agenda is hurting manufacturing nationally, too. Manufacturing slowed again this month, with job growth falling, new orders stalling and input costs rising..Inventories surged to an 18-year high as manufacturers struggled to sell goods in Trump\u2019s tanking economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, <\/em><\/strong>DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement<\/em><\/strong>: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow much more are Americans supposed to take? Trump promised to bring back manufacturing, but instead, his tariffs are crushing the industry. His reckless tariffs are gutting good-paying manufacturing jobs while driving up costs on everyday goods for working families. Trump\u2019s chaotic trade war has needlessly inflicted economic pain on American businesses and consumers \u2014 and it’s only getting worse.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Trump\u2019s claims of a manufacturing renaissance, manufacturing jobs are being slashed<\/a>, shipments are falling and prices keep climbing. And even though Trump likes to say that he\u2019s \u201csolved inflation<\/a>,\u201d costs remain elevated \u2014 and tariffs are what\u2019s driving them higher. Trump\u2019s reckless economic policies are far from a renaissance \u2014 they\u2019re causing an economic catastrophe that\u2019s hitting American manufacturers and consumers.
