New polling<\/a> from the Associated Press today showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans \u2014 75% \u2014 believe the country is on the wrong track, including a majority of Republicans<\/a>, and over 60% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump\u2019s handling of the economy. Another warning sign for the president: 1 in 3 of his own supporters disapprove of his trade negotiations with other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the White House\u2019s claims<\/a> last week that the economy is \u201cback on track,\u201d working families are seeing right through Trump\u2019s billionaire-first economic agenda \u2014 and they\u2019re not having it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s catastrophic economic policies are catching up to him, and it\u2019s no wonder Americans are pissed. Trump promised that he would \u2018end inflation\u2019 on \u2018Day One,\u2019 but instead, everyday necessities are more expensive, jobs are harder to find, and real wages are down. Just this week, Trump said<\/a> that he would \u2018rather not talk about some nonsense on the economy.\u2019 Now, he\u2019s intent on shutting down the government and raising health care costs for millions of Americans. Make no mistake: Trump cares more about tax breaks for his billionaire friends than making life affordable for working families.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Americans have had enough of Trump\u2019s disastrous economy \u2014 and for good reason. His reckless economic policies have caused prices<\/a> and the cost of living to skyrocket and slowed<\/a> the job market to a crawl.
