In his latest abuse of power, Donald Trump has authorized<\/a> the deployment of 300 National Guard troops to Chicago \u2014 once again overriding local law enforcement and wasting thousands of taxpayers\u2019 dollars. When asked about the deployment, Speaker Mike Johnson shrugged it off, saying, \u201c[Y]ou should ask the citizens<\/a>\u201d of Chicago \u2014 yet polling shows most Chicagoans are opposed to Trump\u2019s move.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike Johnson<\/a>: \u201cI don\u2019t think you should ask the governor. I think you should ask the citizens \u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHASER: \u2026the majority \u2014 nearly two-thirds \u2014 of Chicagoans opposed sending the National Guard into Chicago. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capitol Fax<\/a>: \u201c63% of Chicagoans oppose sending the National Guard into Chicago, including 56% who strongly oppose, while only 31% support the idea. That number grows to 65% who oppose the idea after respondents were given additional information.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fox 32 Chicago<\/a>: \u201cA new poll from the group M3, sponsored by a conservative organization called Law and Order PAC, found that 70% of residents oppose President Donald Trump sending in the Army, while 65% oppose sending in the National Guard. \u2026 The poll surveyed 668 Chicago voters.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
