Donald Trump has tanked the economy, and working Americans are paying the price. Inflation is skyrocketing<\/a>, and job opportunities are disappearing thanks to Trump\u2019s disastrous tariffs<\/a>. Despite Trump declaring \u201cgood news\u201d for the holiday season, seasonal hiring is predicted<\/a> to fall to its lowest level in over a decade as a result of his trade war. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make matters worse, Trump refuses to reopen the government because he would rather let 22 million Americans<\/a> see their health insurance premiums skyrocket by an average of 114%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s no surprise that over 60% of Americans<\/a> disapprove of Trump\u2019s handling of the economy. And what is Trump doing to try to fix the economy? Nothing. Instead, he\u2019s busy building his gold-plated ballroom for his billionaire buddies and planning his lavish birthday party<\/a> while working families struggle to get by.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump<\/a>: \u201cJUST OUT: Good news for the Holiday Season. EARLY PRICES ARE DOWN, WHILE TARIFFS ARE MAKING OUR COUNTRY AN ECONOMIC POWER AGAIN. Also, virtually NO INFLATION, AS STOCK MARKETS CONTINUALLY HIT RECORD HIGHS. THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS FOR THE U.S.A.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHASER: \u2026prices are up and jobs are disappearing \u2013 and small businesses and farmers are on the brink because of Trump\u2019s chaotic trade war. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press:<\/a> \u201cEarlier this month, the government reported that U.S. nonfarm employers added a paltry 22,000 jobs in August, following July\u2019s disappointing 79,000 job gains. Worse, revisions to the May and June figures shaved 258,000 jobs off previous estimates. The unemployment rate stands at 4.3%, the highest since October 2021.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios:<\/a> \u201cLess than 1 in 3 say Trump’s tariffs have been good for the U.S. economy, U.S. businesses or personal finances; 63% worry about shortages of key goods they rely on due to tariffs. Less than half (47%) say 2025 has been a better year than 2024. Nearly two-thirds (65%) say they’re financially squeezed each month.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NPR:<\/a> \u201cDespite Trump’s promise to lower prices, the overall cost of groceries is higher now than when he was sworn in. The president’s crackdown on illegal immigration \u2014 including targeting people who pick and process our food \u2014 could add to upward pressure on prices. Trump’s tariffs are also contributing to higher prices for imported staples like bananas and coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Times:<\/a> \u201cOfficial data and statements from companies are pointing to accelerating price rises for an assortment of trade-dependent products after companies sold off inventories and moved to shift the cost burden of tariffs on to consumers. Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that in the six months to August, prices for audio equipment rose by 14 percent, dresses were up by 8 percent and tools, hardware and supplies had risen by 5 percent. Most of these goods are imported.\u201d
