The Utah map must now be approved by a state judge, who will also review a map proposed by plaintiffs who successfully argued Utah\u2019s previous map was unconstitutional.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utah Republicans have already signaled they will appeal any ruling striking down their gerrymandered map and their legislation freshly-passed to bypass state constitutional guardrails preventing this sort of election rigging.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A reminder:<\/strong> recent <a href=\"https:\/\/today.yougov.com\/politics\/articles\/52740-large-majorities-americans-say-gerrymandering-major-problem-unfair-should-be-illegal-redistricting-texas-california-poll\">polling<\/a> shows Americans disapprove of partisan gerrymandering by double-digit margins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In response, <\/em><strong><em>DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><br>\u201cUtahns deserve a fair map that keeps communities connected. Utah Republicans know the map they chose doesn\u2019t pass the smell test, so they\u2019re trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utahpoliticalwatch.news\/brammers-grammar-rewriting-the-rules-of-fair-districts\/\">rewrite<\/a> the rules mid-game to push through a partisan gerrymander. But this scheme will backfire.
