Both New Jersey Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill and Virginia Democratic candidate Abigail Spanberger handily won their debates this week. Sherrill and Spanberger focused relentlessly on their plans to lower costs for working families and make their states more affordable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In stark contrast, their opponents defended Donald Trump and proved they are too extreme to ever be governor. In New Jersey, Jack Ciattarelli gave Trump an \u201cA\u201d grade<\/a>, despite Trump\u2019s Big Ugly Bill causing 390,000 New Jerseyans to lose their health insurance. And in Virginia, Winsome Earle-Sears said banning same-sex marriage and firing LGBTQ+ people is \u201cnot discrimination\u201d and doubled down on her support for an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/strong><\/a>: ‘Shame on you’: Mikie Sherrill, Jack Ciattarelli spar in final debate of New Jersey governor’s race\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Point:<\/strong> \u201cSherrill criticized Trump administration policies, saying that they will drive up costs and that she would join a lawsuit challenging Trump\u2019s tariff policies on her first day in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
