Trump\u2019s already <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats.org\/news\/republicans-vote-to-rip-away-health-care-and-food-assistance\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">made the largest cut to food assistance in history<\/a>, and now he\u2019s using working families as a tool to score political points by refusing to pay for food assistance. Trump has the power to make sure families continue receiving their benefits, but he would rather let families go hungry and keep the government shut down in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=90379082c3d9e6a03baf3f677&amp;id=1b06b74f64&amp;e=928e22e616\">double health care premiums<\/a> for 22 million Americans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile Donald Trump focuses on demolishing the East Wing, millions of Americans are wondering how they will put food on the table. Trump\u2019s crusade to deny people the benefits they rely on is just salt in the wound. He\u2019s already made the biggest cut to health care and food assistance in history, and now he\u2019s refusing to disburse SNAP benefits or fix a looming health care crisis that will cause health care premiums to skyrocket by 114%. Trump couldn\u2019t be clearer \u2014 he will leave working families out to dry in order to line the pockets of his billionaire buddies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump\u2019s second term has been a living nightmare for working families. His disastrous economic policies have worsened inflation and stalled the job market, while his cuts to food assistance are expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmur.com\/article\/millions-of-americans-face-potential-food-insecurity-snap-funding-stalls\/69161184\">plunge<\/a> millions of Americans into food insecurity.
