DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement in response to a letter<\/a> signed by ten Republican officials asking President Trump to end President Obama’s DACA program:<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“The cruelty of this letter is an affront to our values as Americans. Ending the DACA program will needlessly tear more families apart, shatter communities, drive immigrants into the shadows, and make us all less safe as a result. DACA has helped hundreds of  thousands of immigrants who were brought here as children, and who want nothing more than the chance to contribute to the only nation they’ve ever called home. Targeting these DREAMers is simply wrong. The Democratic Party believes our diversity is our greatest strength, and we will always fight for hardworking families and a smart, sensible immigration system.”<\/span><\/p>\n

El Director del Comité Nacional Demócrata, Tom Pérez, realizó las siguientes declaraciones como respuesta a la <\/span><\/em>carta<\/a><\/span><\/em> firmada por diez oficiales republicanos pidiéndole al presidente Trump que termine con el programa DACA creado por el presidente Obama: <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

“La crueldad de esta carta es un insulto a nuestros valores. Terminar con el programa de Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia (DACA) dividiría aún más familias sin necesidad, destrozando comunidades y hundiendo a inmigrantes en las sombras. Esto nos haría más vulnerables, no más seguros. El programa DACA ha ayudado a cientos de miles de inmigrantes que fueron traídos a este país como niños, quienes sólo quieren tener una oportunidad de contribuir plenamente al único país que conocen como su hogar. Hacer de los DREAMers un blanco es incorrecto. El Partido Demócrata cree que nuestra diversidad es nuestra mayor fuerza como país.
