According to <\/em>analysis by conservative economist Mark Perry<\/em><\/a>, the pay gap between male and female White House staffers has more than tripled in the months since Donald Trump assumed office. As the <\/em>Washington Post reported<\/em><\/a>, the 37% genderpay gap in the Trump White House is more than double the 17% gender pay gap nationally. Only a few months ago, <\/em>Ivanka Trump tweeted<\/em><\/a> “#EqualPayDay is a reminder that women deserve equal pay for equal work. We must work to close the gender pay gap!”<\/em><\/p>\n

In response, DNC CEO Jess O’Connell released the following statement:<\/em><\/p>\n

“The new analysis showing that the Trump administration allowed the gender pay gap to more than triple in the White Houseis disturbing, but sadly, not surprising. We’ve already seen Donald Trump roll back critical safeguards on equal pay and sexual harassment, which President Obama put in place to protect women in the workplace. Women in Trump’s White House earn just 63.2 cents on the dollar compared to their male counterparts. This is only further proof that the Trump administration does not support women’s fight for equality in the workplace. Women have been fighting for equal pay for decades, and this monumental step backwards by our country’s own White House is unacceptable.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
