Ending the&nbsp;DACA&nbsp;program would force thousands of immigrants &ndash; who only know this country as their home&mdash;back into the shadows. It would tear families apart and make our communities less safe.&nbsp;DREAMers were brought here as children; they represent our country&rsquo;s future and they&rsquo;re already making invaluable contributions to our economy.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Democrats believe our diversity is our greatest strength, and we will always fight for hardworking families and a smart, sensible immigration system &ndash; Republicans should join with us instead of playing political games with the lives of millions.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Tom Perez responde ante nuevas amenazas al programa DACA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>El Director Nacional del DNC, Tom P&eacute;rez, realiz&oacute; las siguientes declaraciones en respuesta a las <a href=\"http:\/\/www.univision.com\/noticias\/inmigracion\/caucus-hispano-advierte-que-el-gobierno-de-trump-no-cedera-en-su-agresiva-politica-de-deportaciones\">noticias<\/a> de que el Secretario de Seguridad Nacional, John Kelly, cuestion&oacute; la viabilidad legal del programa DACA del presidente Obama en una reuni&oacute;n con el Caucus Hispano del Congreso:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lo que hemos escuchado de esta reuni&oacute;n es aterrador. Terminar con el programa DACA obligar&iacute;a a que miles de inmigrantes que s&oacute;lo conocen a este pa&iacute;s como su hogar, vuelvan a las sombras. Algo as&iacute; s&oacute;lo destruir&iacute;a a m&aacute;s familias y har&iacute;a m&aacute;s inseguras a nuestras comunidades. Los j&oacute;venes &lsquo;so&ntilde;adores&rsquo; fueron tra&iacute;dos aqu&iacute; como ni&ntilde;os y ellos representan el futuro de nuestro pa&iacute;s.
